September Shuffle: The Great Chinese Shuffle

The game of musical chairs in China had began for the biggest Chinese teams, trading around the best among Chinese Dota players, including fy, eLeVeN, and the return of old LaNm to competitive gaming.

Almost overnight, the landscape of Chinese Dota have changed a lot, with teams swapping players in what they think is the best fit for their organizations. One of the teams that had the biggest of changes was Vici Gaming, who had changed four out of their five players. With hao, Yang, Hym and Chuan leaving VG, the team had welcomed into the organization Paparazi (from iG Vitality), eLeVeN (from LGD Gaming), Fenrir (from VG.J) and a returning old LaNm, who had previously coached VG’s latest team iteration. In summary, VG’s new lineup is:


Vici Gaming

  1. Zhang “Paparazi” Chengjun
  2. Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang
  3. Ren “eLeVeN” Yangwei
  4. Zhang “LaNm: Zhicheng
  5. Lu “Fenrir” Chao


With Fenrir leaving VG.J, his famed support duo with the Rubick god fy has once again parted ways. Just like Fenrir, fy also left VG.J to replace eLeVeN’s position in LGD. This will be the first time fy will be taking on the role of offlaner for the first time. Despite being renowned primarily as a world-class support player, fy have shown his versatility before and has proven his individual skill for being successful in multiple 1v1 tournaments. With fy under LGD’s wing, the new LGD Gaming roster is:


LGD Gaming

  1. Wang “Ame” Chunyu
  2. Lu “Maybe” Yao
  3. Xu “fy” Linsen
  4. Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng
  5. Chen “Victoria” Guanghong


The remaining members of Team VG.J consists of rOtk returning to coaching, with Sylar, Ghost, Yang, Fade and Ayo completing the team.

  4. Pan “Fade” Yi

121 will be coaching the new roster of VG.P consisting of J, Freeze, Sen, Xmy and Ran.

Invictus Gaming gets a slight change in their roster as well with END replacing Burning as carry. It is unknown yet whether Burning will be taking a break or going for retirement, or will go to IG.V to replace Paparazi. And thus, the new IG roster is:

  4. Yeh “BoBoKa” Zhibiao
  5. Fu “Q” Bin


Finally, EHOME will be welcoming Hym as their new soft support. He will be replacing Garder, who has left the team earlier last week for undisclosed reasons. As such, EHOME will still be led by old chicken with the following roster:

  2. Chen “Cty” Tianyu
  3. Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida
  4. Xu “Hym” Zhi
  5. Zhang “y`” Yiping

Other Chinese teams who have not yet changed their rosters, or are otherwise sticking together for the next Dota2 season are LGD.FY, CDEC Gaming,and Newbee.
