Newbee are your Champions of the Galaxy

Newbee takes home their second LAN for the year, this time the Galaxy Battles in Shenzen, China, following their win in the ZOTAC Cup Masters in Taipei earlier this month.

Newbee defeats Planet Odd in two series yesterday to win their second LAN event for the year, which might just be enough for the Chinese powerhouse to receive a direct invite to The International 7. Newbee first defeated Odd 2-1 in the Upper Bracket Finals of the tournament, sending Odd down to face TNC Pro Team in the Lower Bracket Finals. TNC loses to Odd, and thus finishing third in the tournament and taking home $18,000 (~Php900,000). Odd then earned a rematch opportunity against Newbee in the Grand Finals, but Newbee had Odd all figured out, defeating them on a 3-0 run.

TNC on the other hand, finishes on their fourth podium finish in a Premier LAN event for the year, following their victories in the WESG 2016 in January (as 1st place), in Starladder i-League StarSeries Season 3 (3rd to 4th), and StarLadder i-League Invitational #2 (as 2nd place). In their defeat against Odd in Galaxy Battles, TNC falls to Top 10 from Top 8 in the International Leaderboards in GosuGamers’ Power Rankings. Despite this, TNC still leads the SEA Leaderboards, followed closely by Team Faceless.
