Two Filipino teams will be joining in for the first Major of next year in the country.
Of the ten teams in the SEA Qualifiers of the Galaxy Battles II, it would be Mineski joining TNC representing the country in and the region. With TNC previously directly invited to the event, Mineski successfully scored a spot as well in the 16-team tournament.
Mineski defeated Fnatic and Geek Fam in the playoffs of the qualifiers. Being a Stage 2 invite, Mineski went straight to the playoffs, as well as Fnatic. Geek Fam emerged from Group A, besting even Execration and Clutch Gamers. Meanwhile, Fire Dragoon won Group B, defeating WG.Unity, HappyFeet and Signify.
Ten teams are now slated to battle in Galaxy Battles II, with Team Spirit also qualifying through the CIS region qualifiers. Unlike Mineski, Team Spirit was just a Stage 1 invite, and had to go through the double eliminations. Spirit was on the brink of elimination at one point when they were sent to the lower bracket by Effect, but the team bounced back and had their revenge when they beat Effect in the Finals. Spirit would later on beat Tier One CIS teams Team Empire and Natus Vincere in the playoffs.
$1,000,000 (~Php50,000,000) and 1,500 Pro Circuit Points will be fought over on the first Major of the year next year.
