Mineski continues their winning streak, adding the AMD SAPPHIRE Dota PIT League to the Minors they will be competing on in the next few months.
Showing a monstrous performance thus far, Mineski’s new roster is showing great promise. Early this morning, Mineski just defeated Fnatic 3-2 in the Grand Finals of the AMD SAPPHIRE Dota PIT League SEA Qualifiers. This will be Mineski’s third Minor of the season so far.
Mineski and Fnatic fought a rematch battle as Fnatic bounced back up from the lower bracket finals, defeating Execration. However, unlike the first time that they fought each other in the upper bracket finals, Fnatic didn’t go down without a fight in the Grand Finals.
Jumping ahead, there has been a stark contrast between the last two games between the two teams. Fnatic have had a large lead ahead of Mineski on Game 4, but they almost lost their advantage with a valiant counterattack by Mineski. However, Mineski were still defeated, tying the series 2-2, after more than an hour of intense battles.
Fnatic’s great performance in the fourth game didn’t repeat itself in Game 5, however. Their draft proved to be disastrous, as Mineski easily handed Fnatic a beatdown, finishing Game 5 in less than thirty minutes. It wasn’t Fnatic’s best game. Jabz’s Pudge proved to be instrumental in ensuring that Mineski would get an early lead. This then prevented Fnatic from reaching their full midgame potential, utterly destroying them with impunity.
Mineski is having a great time right now. However, their highest potential Pro Circuit Points only rests at a 450 points with three Minors. Among the SEA teams, it is still Happy Feet who have the highest potential Pro Circuit Points right now with 750 points in just one Major. This goes to show how important it is to qualify for the Majors. We’ll see in the next few months how much these two top SEA teams will capitalize on their opportunities.
