Happy Feet will be the Philippine representatives for the first ever major of the new Dota2 season, ESL One Hamburg 2017.
The set pieces of the new Dota2 season, with its new format, are starting to fall into place. We have the qualifiers for the first few Minors concluding, with Mineski clinching their spot in three Minors so far. But for the first ever Major of the season, it will be Happy Feet representing not only the Philippines, but the whole SEA region.
It was already in the bag for the Philippines once the SEA Grand Finals qualifiers of ESL One Hamburg 2017 commenced. The finals, after all, was fought between HF and Clutch Gamers. Whichever direction the matchup would have taken, we’re sure that the Filipinos will be present in the Main Stage of the tournament.
The road to the Major wasn’t a cakewalk for HF. They also defeated the best teams from elsewhere in the SEA region, like Fire Dragoon and WG.Unity. Their opponents in the Grand Finals, CG, fought against other Filipino teams and teams with Filipinos in the Qualifier, taking down Fnatic, TNC Pro Team and Young Minds.
Other notable participants in the ESL One Hamburg 2017 SEA Qualifiers were Mineski and Execration, who were eliminated by Fnatic and Fire Dragoon, respectively.
ESL One Hamburg 2017 will be held one month from now, from October 26-29. Team Liquid and Newbee have received direct invites for the tournament, while Team Secret, Virtus.pro, Keen Gaming, Evil Geniuses and SG-Esports are joining in through their respective regional qualifiers.
With all that being said, we send our congratulations and best wishes to Rapy, Benhur, Yaj, Julz, and JessieVash. Make the Philippines proud!

He started being competitive when he and his brother would bet favors for each other depending on who wins at the PS2 game Naruto Shippuuden.
