Here’s all you need to know about ESL One Genting 2018.

The second Minor of the year will keep off in a couple of hours. As of yet, ESL One Genting 2018 will be the biggest tournament of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit Season in terms of scale, boasting sixteen teams traveling all the way to Genting, Malaysia, including our very own TNC Pro Team. Other teams that will be coming from their respective qualifiers are Planet Dog, LGD.Forever Young, Team VGJ.Thunder, PENTA Sports, Natus Vincere, compLexity Gaming and SG e-sports. Meanwhile the teams Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, Mineski, Newbee, Team Secret, Vici Gaming and local favorites Fnatic were directly invited into the tournament.

ESL One Genting 2018 will have a lot of good Dota matches in store for everyone, owing to the amount of matches that will occur in the next couple of days. The sixteen teams were seeded into two groups based on their standings in the DPC, in double elimination format. The three best performing teams of each group will proceed to the Final Playoffs of the tournament. The winner of the each group will go straight to the semifinals, while the other two teams of the group will have to grind their way from quarterfinals to Grand Finals.

The opening matches of the group stages will be Best of 1, while the Grand Finals will be Best of 5. Everything else will be played in Best of 3, which would bring the total number of matches between 53 to 73 games. That’s a lot of Dota that’s going to be played over the course of six days.

Surviving the group stage assures your team $20,000 earnings, but you would have to win in the quarterfinals to secure any QP. The joint fourth placers will earn 40 QP each, the runner-up 120 and the champions 200, bringing the total QP value of the tournament to 400 QP. The Grand Prize of the tournament is pegged at $160,000.

TNC Pro Team’s first match will be against Mineski at 3:30PM local time.
