September Shuffle: Fear and Resolut1on

Fear is back, and Resolut1on will be bleeding green starting this season.

It would look like that the rumors aren’t true: Resolut1on will not be returning to the CIS region, even with his fun run with Team Empire as a sub during TI7, after Chappie was denied access to the United States. Instead, after the breakup of Planet Odd, Resolut1on will become OG’s new midlaner. OG had been on the hunt for a new midlaner, after ana decided to take a break for this season after the conclusion of TI7. That leaves the OG roster to be composed of:

1. Johann “N0taiL” Sundstein
2. Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok
3. Gustav “s4” Magnusson
4. Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka
5. Tal “Fly” Azik

With OG’s legacy of winning the most Valve official events so far, winning a record-setting four Valve events, the pressure is high for the team to continue performing well. As usual, the team isn’t content with merely winning Majors, even though they have cemented their legacy in the history books already, with a record that will never be broken. No, they are forever aiming for that Aegis of the Immortal.

Which is what Fear and the rest of the Evil Geniuses aim to retake. The legendary captain has returned from retirement to seek the Aegis for the second time. EG had announced earlier this week that zai will be leaving the team, along with the announcement that ppd will be stepping down from his administrative role in the organization. This sparked rumors that both ppd and zai had left EG to be able to form their own team. The rumor mill named ccnc, MiSeRy and Pajkatt to be part of this hypothetical ppd stack.

With Fear’s return comes the captaincy of the team, and thus Cr1t- will be stepping back from his leadership. A lot of criticism has been thrown at Cr1t-’s way, especially his drafting, which has been blamed by fans as the reason for EG’s failure to reclaim the Aegis. However, the team did find success in other tournaments, such as the Mars Dota2 League and the Manila Masters under the captaincy of Cr1t-. With these changes, EG will be entering the new season with:

1. Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
2. Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan
3. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora
4. Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielssen
5. Clint “Fear” Loomis

More roster updates are on their way, as the upcoming season will be starting in a few weeks. The Qualifiers for the PGL Minor on October will start around the third week of September. Tune in here for the latest news on esports.
